WHEN WE DREAM WE ARE ALL CREATORS
An immersive art exhibition inspired by “The Bush” project by Diego Buongiorno
“When We Dream We Are All Creators”—a title that echoes Diego Buongiorno’s belief that to dream is to represent, and whoever represents creates like an artist—arrives in Rome on September 16, hosted in the extraordinary setting of the Horti Sallustiani, built in the 1st century BC. The exhibition marks the third chapter of Buongiorno’s concept album The Bush: a contemporary fable told through 25 musical tracks composed, arranged, and produced by the Italian–Icelandic artist.
At the heart of the project lies the story of a woman who, dreaming herself as a child, crosses a forest woven with danger, beauty, and transformation. The exhibition expands this narrative into a hybrid form between concert, visual installation, and cinematic experience—a dialogue between the conscious and the irrational, between classical architecture and experimental sound.
Rolling Stone Italia has described The Bush as “a unique labour of love hosting international musicians”, including Jo Hamilton, Tanya Tagaq, The Irrepressibles, Dorian Wood, Eivor, Amiina, Clare and the Reasons, Sabina Sciubba, Little Red Lung, Craig Walker, Hogni Egilsson, and with contributions from leading sound engineers Mandy Parnelland Addi 800.
