On the nineteenth of October, in Poznan, an economic and industrial centre of Poland, one of the largest architectural projects in Europe was inaugurated. Completed after twenty six months of construction, the Galerie Posnania complex is a multifunctional crossroads dedicated also to the development of new artistic and cultural perspectives. With an overall investment of more than one hundred and forty million euros, twenty six months of work and over one thousand workers involved, these are the figures behind this extraordinary architectural achievement.
Under the curatorship of the Parisian gallery Pop Up 208, thirteen international artists were invited to interact with the space by creating site specific installations with a strong environmental impact. Nespoon, Rebecca Louise Law, Suzan Drummen, Elise Morin and Micaela Lattanzio, to name only a few, are the protagonists of the project developed on the Posnania construction site.
Micaela Lattanzio presented to the public her work entitled Oasis – Floral Waterfall. As the artist explained: “Oasis is an invitation to meditation that reminds human beings of their harmonious relationship with nature. It is a metaphor that urges modern individuals to reflect on their surroundings within urban spaces.”The cascade of flowers suspended from three plexiglass circles rises into the void in a colourful springlike dance, following the guiding thread of the stylistic and poetic choices that have shaped the Roman artist’s site specific works throughout these years of experimentation.
